What's Cooking

This month, we're welcoming Matthew Ravenscroft @thedirtyraven into the kitchen to share one of his favorite summer recipes - a bright, effortless burrata salad that's perfect for slow lunches, backyard dinners, and everything in between.

Summer Burrata Salad

Ingredients

1. 1/4 bunch asparagus, blanched & chopped

2. 1 cup peas, blanched & chilled

3. 3 scallions, sliced

4. 1 finger chili, deseeded & diced

5. 3 tbsp pickled onions

6. 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning or toasted white sesame seeds

7. 1 ball burrata

8. Juice & zest of 1 lemon

9. 1 tbsp grainy mustard

10. Olive oil

11. Salt & pepper

12. Torn basil

Method

1. Whisk together the lemon juice and zest, grainy mustard, olive oil, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.

2. Add the asparagus, peas, scallions, chili, pickled onions, and seasoning. Toss everything together until well coated.

3. Top with the burrata. Just before serving, tear into the burrata and gently fold it through the salad. Finish with torn basil and enjoy with toasted bread.

What I'm Wearing

My summer this style is colorful, edited, and playful-meets-put together. If you know me you know I love to wear what I love on repeat, and create my looks each season based on a few new favorites while always mixing in my trusted staples and core pieces. Bandana print has been so much fun to explore and style. I layer different jewellery looks (always adding more in the summer to my wrist and neck stack) for a more personalized feeling - charms, beads, stones, pearls, leather, enamel, motifs (I'lll never say no to a palm tree print).

What I'm Loving

The Korean Lash Lift service at Gee Beauty is a game-changer and is making all my lash dreams come true. Like wow these are my own lashes, tinted, lifted and curled. My summer makeup look is all about a lightweight glow - I've been using Moisture Tint in shade 01, with the Cheeky Trio blush palette and a browny-pink, tea-rose lip look, featuring Talk To Me Lip Liner and Lustrous Latte lipstick.

Where I'm Going

I recently went to a fun Hot Girls Astrology Club event at Ode Toronto - a really cool new neighborhood hotel on Dundas West. Summer is a great time to try new and fun things, meet new people and be social - and a reason to put a cool look together and enjoy the city and gorgeous weather. The vibes we're great.

What I'm Excited About For Fall

Too soon to talk about Fall? Not for me! We're already receiving gorgeous early Fall looks that I'm starting to add into our mix at 6, plus September marks the return of truly the most magical time - the Le Labo City Exclusive scents. Each year, the scents that usually are exclusive to the city they are created for, pack up and go on a world tour. That means you can experience Tokyo's Gaiac 10 scent (my personal favorite) or Paris' Vanille 44 right in our Toronto boutique. This year there is a new scent in the mix that is truly dreamy and might throw Gaiac off my top spot - we experienced the new creation with our Le Labo partners and we are so ready for it! Where I'm Headed Next
